Final project meeting in Slovakia
From 1st to 3rd June 2009, the Secondary Vocational Electrotechnical School in Poprad-Matejovce, Slovakia, was a place of the final project meeting of the Comenius project, funded byt he European Union.
Six months after the previous meeting in December 2008, we again welcomed the guests from the partner schools in Thornbury, England and Volos, Greece. As this meeting was the last meetingof the three partner schools, our main task was to evaluate together our 2-yearlong cooperation , its benefits, pros and cons.
The main common feature of the participants were T-shirts bearing the project logo, which every country brought to Slovakia. One part of the meeting was an interesting discussion about religions in our countries. We also presented another final common product – the calendar for the school year 2009/2010, which included holidays of all three countries and pictures from various school events that took place at the participating schools.
As the partner schools, particularly the Volos school, are aimed at educating physically and mentally disabled children, the teachers appreciated a meeting with handicapped children at the Special primary school at Partizánska street 2, Poprad.
Although the weather was not very favourable, we did not miss the opportunity to take pleasure in wonderful viewfrom the Spiš Castle and to visit the medieval town of Levoča.
We hope that like the first time in December, also now our esteemed foreign guests experienced nice and interesting moments in Slovakia and that this final stage of the project is in fact the beginning of new common activities in future.
