Partner schools from England and Greece in Slovakia

From 8th to 13th December 2008 our school was a place of a project meeting of the partner schools from England and Greece, that have been co-operating with our school on the Comenius project called „Together in Europe“ since October 2007

he project is supported by the European Union and is being worked on within the Sokrates programme.

As the aim of the project is meeting and getting to know cultures of participating countries, the welcome of the foreign teachers on the floor of our school had been prepared  responsively. Thank to the fact that some of our students and teachers devote their free time to folklore, we presented our traditional Slovak costumes, songs and dance as well.

At the project meeting, that followed, the partners presented another of the project products –presentations of history of the participating countries. Our students processed all the pieces of information, gathered during the school year about our history and from the Greek partner school, into PowerPoint presentations and presented them in English to our foreign guests. English history was presented by the English partners.

Within the rich programme our partners visited  famous churches in the town of Kezmarok, we went to a trip to the High Tatras and we spent a nice evening with a live folklore music  in the Slovak Restaurant in Poprad.

We believe that our guests had an interesting and nice time in our country and that they went back home full of new impressions about Slovakia.
