Although Christianity is the recognized religion of most people in the UK we all acknowledge that we live ina multi-faith society. In some ways it has been a multi-faith society since the Reformation 500 years ago. Although Queen Elizabeth 1 made the Church of England the state religion, there were many other churches, including Protestants who were non-conformists, such as Methodists and Baptists, as well as Roman Catholics and, from 1657, Jews.

Greece Religion: The Greek population is composed of a 97% of Christian Orthodox.The rest of the population is Muslim, Roman Catholic, Protestant and Jewish.Greece and Russia are the only countries to have such a great proportion of people that belong to the Orthodox Church.

The Orthodox Church forms the third largest branch of Christianity after the Roman Catholics and the Protestants.

In the center of every village in Slovakia, there is a church (and a pub). How important is the religion for people? How many of them belong to which church?

In the Population and Housing Census 2001 (performed by the Statistical Office oft he Slovak Republic - the citizens had to indicate their religious affiliation.The question was not mandatory, so 3% of the population have written nothing into the field 'Religion'
